Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as the Garden City Wind (17-16) outscored the Topeka Train Robbers (14-20) 9-8.
The teams totaled 18 hits in the game.
Beau Welborn had a hot bat for the Garden City Wind. Welborn went 2-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.
Gabriel Acevedo did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Topeka Train Robbers, reaching base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the fifth inning.
Even though Ryan Riordan allowed six runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out three, walked eight and surrendered seven hits.
Larry Rodriguez was charged with the loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
