Beau Welborn went 1-3 and hit a home run, sparking the Garden City Wind (36-23) to a 4-3 victory over the Great Bend Boom (18-39) on Saturday at Al Burns Field. He homered in the fifth inning.

Connor Kellys eight strikeouts were enough to push the Garden City Wind past the Great Bend Boom. Kelly allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks over 6 2/3 innings.

Jonathan Tasis went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Great Bend Boom. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Matt Marino ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked six, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
